Böbben on the Road to Mora: The Magic of Dalastompen

Anders Böbben Larsson

The road to Mora is famous for many things—skis, wooden horses, and deep forests—but for one weekend, it became the epicenter of the Mortal Realms. Dalastompen wasn’t just a tournament; it was a masterclass in why we spend countless hours painting tiny plastic warriors. It was about the people, the laughs, and that unmistakable "hobby high" you only get when a community comes together.

More Than Just a Game

The heart of Dalastompen beat inside a fantastic local community hall. There is something truly special about these venues. Forget sterile hotel conference rooms; here, we had cozy sleeping quarters and even a sauna to sweat out the tactical blunders of the day.

The best part? Everyone stayed.

When the dice stopped rolling, nobody disappeared to separate hotels. We stayed, we shared stories, and we forged new friendships. That’s the soul of the Age of Sigmar community—turning "that opponent from round two" into a friend you’ll look forward to seeing for years to come.

The Lightning Strikes (and Stumbles)

I brought the boys in silver—my Stormcast Eternals in a hard-hitting Lightning Echelon formation. The list was built for speed and impact:

The List: Dalastompen 2000/2000

The Big Guns: Celestant-Prime (General) & Knight-Judicator.

The Wings: Prosecutors and two units of Stormdrake Guard

The Ground Crew: Knight-Relictor, Questor Soulsworn and Vigilors.

And the trusty Stormreach Portal.

I ended the weekend with a respectable 3-2 record. However, the numbers don't tell the whole story. My Stormcast comrades and I felt every single wound this weekend; we had to fight tooth and nail for every inch of the board. It was a grind, but a glorious one. Cheers to all my SCE Brothers this weekend.

A Champion’s Plan

A massive shout-out to Micha, who swept the field with a perfect 5-0. He told me from the start that was the plan, and he executed it flawlessly. I actually had the "honor" of being his very first victim in Round 1—so I’d like to think I warmed him up for greatness! Huge congrats, Micha!

Final Reflections: What’s Next?

As I packed up my Stormdrakes and the Celestant-Prime, a question lingered in the Mora air: What now?

Do I double down on the Sons of Sigmar and keep grinding until the meta bows to the lightning? Or is it time to hang up the big armor and dive into something completely new?

Whatever the choice, Dalastompen reminded me that it doesn’t really matter what army you put on the table, as long as you’re surrounded by the best community in gaming.

Big Love
